Watch Brighton win the district baseball title in a Jack Storey walk-off hit against Howell
Highlights and postgame reactions from Brighton’s 5-4 win over Howell in the district baseball championship match on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
Bill Khan, Livingston Daily
This, the Livingston Daily Athlete of the Week poll last school year 2021-22.
Hopefully, this isn’t the last week of the high school sports calendar for the Livingston County team. I’m happy that the high school sports year was extended to last week by a team (s) that could make it all the way to the final day of June 18 at Michigan State University.
We won’t have a softball team, because the county doesn’t have a district champion for the first time since 2007. We have three baseball teams (Brighton, Charyl Stockwell, Hartland) and one football team (Hartland) still vying to reach MSU.
The district also has three lacrosse teams (both the Hartland team and the Brighton girls) still playing in Wednesday’s state semifinals to take on the state championships this Saturday. Brighton will compete in the state golf tournament this Saturday.
At this point, you know the training: Choose early, choose often.
Voting closes at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Refresh your browser if the poll is not immediately visible.
