The Alabama High School Athletics Association’s Central Control Board has approved the school’s alignment for the spring sports of baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf, and outdoor track for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years.

The CBC’s unanimous action came at the Spring Sports Classification meeting, which followed Monday’s working session at the AHSAA Office.
The alignment for fall and winter sports, based on the number of schools stated to participate in each sport for the upcoming 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years and the reclassification of schools for the next classification period, was released earlier this year. Some sports may include two or more classes in a division based on the number of participants declared.

The Central Board of the Alabama High School Athletic Association met Monday and voted to postpone area play for baseball, softball, and football until more research and data can be researched. After further discussion Monday, the Central Board outlined its implementation for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 classification periods, as it takes more time to study the options.

All three sports will remain in their current format for the upcoming classification period. AHSAA staff were asked to continue collecting data for the Central Board’s study. The Central Control Board conducts reclassifications, in accordance with the AHSAA Constitution and Laws, every two years.

The area and opponent alignment for each district team in the 2023 and 2024 seasons is as follows:
